Ennis Blue Bonnet Festival - April 2007

April is my favorite time of year in Texas because if it has rained enough the past winter we have lots of wild flowers. There is a nearby town, Ennis, that hosts a bluebonnet (the Texas State flower) festival every year. We had never been before but thought it would be fun to go out for it. It is just a small town but many of the locals have seeded their yards so that they have tons of flowers in their yards and the town itself has tons. They have maps taht you can follow that take you to the most densley flowered areas and people will just let you drive into their yards, they are so proud of them. We had a great time driving around and seeing all the beautiful flowers. And that night we got to go to the drive-in movies, it was so fun. They had a double feature of "Is It Done Yet?" (I think that's what it was called anyway) and "Blades of Glory". It was awesome. I hadn't been to a drive in since my first few years of college and it had been even longer for Ryan. We had a blast. I know after seeing all our flower pictures you are gonig to want to come visit us in April so you can get flower pictures too. We will have our guest room ready.
