Meerkat Mondays

Mondays in June are Meerkat Mondays - Zoo members get in an hour early, they give you a snack and water, and you get to ride the carousel and train free. We totally took advantage of it! We went every week (but one when family was visiting - and we didn't get pics one week).

The first week we went with our friends - The Shields (Karilyn, Mac, and Damon) and The Days (Megan, Emma, Brynn). It was so fun.

We went by ourselves this week.  The weeks of missing pics was also just us. Also lots of fun.

Our last week Ryan's parents met us there and we had a great time with them. Abby loves feeding the birds!

Family Visit

My sisters' sons went to EFY (Especially For Youth - a church camp) near us this summer. What this meant for us was visits from my sister and some of her kids at the beginning and end of EFY (when she was dropping the boys off and picking them up) and my niece staying with us the week in between. I love it when Abby gets cousin time! Also as a bonus, my mom had been at my sister's so she came too and spent a few days with me before going home. We didn't do anything super exciting, mostly just spent time together. We did get to take them to Concerts in the Gardens (an outdoor concert series at our botanic garden), have a visit from a long-time friend (Stephanie Harris Waite) and her kiddos, my mom made tacos (my very favorite), we took Elli to some of the library summer reading programs, took pictures for Father's Day of both Elli and Abby, watched Anne of Green Gables, and just spent time together. Mindy and Elli also watched Abby for us so we could go out for our anniversary, so that was nice! (We went to eat at an Italian Restaurant - Villa Diana, then went to an outdoor concert in downtown Burleson. Happy 11 years to us! I don't think we took any pics though :( ). It was fun!
