Abby really liked 4th of July last year - she loves lights so the fireworks were a big hit. We weren't sure if she would have the same reaction to them this year since she's sensitive to loud noises. We need not have worried. We actually went to the fireworks show on July 3rd. I guess since there are so many cities so close together in the metroplex they try to spread the shows out so they are not all on the same day. This year we went to the one in Joshua which is held at the high school football stadium. On our way there we stopped for dinner, then headed to the stadium. Before the fireworks they had a concert and let people play on the field, so we did. Abby had a ton of fun running all around, dancing, and tackling Ryan. And then as we sat back to watch the fireworks she was captivated.

On 4th fo July we spent the day with Ryan's family in Grapevine. His parents adore Abby and are so excited to have a grandkid. They surprised her with several new toys including a lawn chair just her size, a baby stroller, and a circus tent. We didn't go to any more fireworks shows, but we did spend several hours at the city pool and that was super fun. They have a great kids play area plus 2 large water slides, a rock climbing wall, and lots of things to climb on. One of the best city pools I've ever seen. And it was only $2/person - and Abby was Free! It was a fun day.
