We decided to go on a little getaway for 4th of July. We found a cute B&B in Granbury that allows dogs - Windmill Farm. We had a little cabin that had a living room, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom. We stayed in the Dakota cabin. They have more than 40 windmills. It was a fun place to stay.
We got to Granbury Friday morning and started off with watching the parade. We met our friends Adam and Stacy Fuller there (and there little boy Eli - Adam and Stacy served with us in the single's ward). It was super hot and the parade was nothing spectacular, but it was still fun. After we went out to eat with the Fullers, and that was fun. We like Adam and Stacy lots but rarely get to see them now that we're not in the same ward. It was nice to get to catch up with them.
After lunch we checked in at the B&B and gave Abby a nap. Ryan's parents and Heather came by. We spend a little time just hanging out at cabin, then went to the city rodeo. I really like rodeos, but this was seriously the most boring rodeo I've ever been to. It was so bad we left half way through! Oh well. We went to eat, then went down by the lake to watch the fire works. That was fun. We had brought glow in the dark stuff for Abby to play with, she had lots of fun with that and really liked the fireworks too. She calls them "showers of light". She doesn't like how loud they are though so we cover her ears for her. After fireworks we headed to our cabin and Ryan's family headed home.
We spent Saturday morning at Granbury beach and had a great time. I love water! Why wasn't I born a mermaid?
