Happy Birthday America!

To celebrate our countries birthday, Ryan and I went down to West with our friends Jesse and Leanne Bell and went canoeing and kayaking (we got one of each and switched off). Although I left the experience fairly sunburned, we had a really good time, and despite what I anticipated, my arms never got sore. It was just nice on the river, very pretty with limestone cliffs, and plants, and it wasn’t as hot as we thought it would be. The only negative (other than the sunburn) was for some stupid reason, we decided to switch boats in some super nasty, stagnant water and we all ended up with leaches on our feet. Well, Jesse was the only one who actually had them on his feet since he didn’t have shoes on, we had them on our shoes. It was a first experience for all but Jesse, and they were rather nasty, but tiny and you couldn’t really feel them. It was more the idea of them that grossed you out then the actual leeches. But we really did have a great time. After the river and on our way out of West we stopped at The Czech Stop were I used to sometimes stop on my way from school and got some kolaches. We had all been hungry and they were very enjoyable. When we got back to Burleson we were all exhausted and ready for showers. We had planned earlier to get together later for fireworks and dinner, but that never happened. Ryan and I took showers, had some left-overs, went to the grocery store to get some ice cream, and then just watched fireworks outside our house, which was nice. It was a good 4th – and I am very grateful to be an American and for the rights and freedoms I have as one.

I'm not sure why there are dates on these pictures as we don't have any on any other pictures we have taken. And I think it is funny how clearly wrong the date is since I didn't even get the camera until last year. But whatever, I don't know how to get rid of it.
