Throughout our marriage Ryan and I have gotten various credit cards for the accompanying award benefits. We don't pay credit card fees so any credit card that starts charging a fee after a year we cancel before that date arrives. Many of our trips have been possible because of airline miles we've received through credit cards (Guadeloupe, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, Kenya). We recently got a Bank of America credit card - we don't get airline miles with it, but we do get cash back (also nice). But the main reason I was initially interested in it is because there are various museums (and other attractions) throughout the US that you can visit free the first weekend of the month if you have their credit card (or bank account). We got the card a few months ago but finally were able to take advantage of free museum admission - we went to the Fort Worth Science Museum. It is fairly small and a lot of the exhibits will be more fun once Abby is older, but still, we had a good time. Our favorite things were digging up dinosaur bones and playing with the shopping carts in the "grocery store".
