GNO!

My incredibly awesome friend Alicia Parrish had a late-term miscarriage in January. She had been trying to get pregnant for years and when she finally did I was thrilled for her. There's something about having experienced infertility and the struggle of wanting that pregnancy so much and not getting it that bonds you to other people with the same experience. I was seriously so excited for her when I found out that she was pregnant - like almost as excited as I would be if I found out I was pregnant. And then when I got the phone call that she had a miscarriage (it was at 20 weeks - she and her whole family went in for the gender reveal ultrasound only to find out he had already returned to heaven) I was heart broken. I grieved with her - for a long time. Our whole ward (church congregation) did. I have never seen so many people so affected by a miscarriage - the outpouring of love that resulted was truly miraculous to me. It changed me.
Anyway, this was her due date. I wish we could have been having a baby shower for her! But, since that wasn't part of Heavenly Father's plan, we decided to have a girl's night out (GNO!) instead. Not as exciting as welcoming a new baby, but still fun.
First we went to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants - Torchy's Tacos. I have a serious addiction to this place. Like, my mouth literally starts watering every time I think about it. It is not at all healthy, but I can't get enough of it.

Then we went to Sundance Square, split in to two groups, and did a fun scavenger hunt. I love these girls! I don't live near any of my sisters, but these ladies are my sisters too! So lucky to have them in my life!

People like to give Abby things.  A lady that her grandma swims with (who has never even met Abby) gave her the headband thing.

 Another puzzle conquered

Can't have too much of her cuteness

Penny was the first princess to join our family - we love her too!

BFFs

Since September we have had a weekly visitor at our house, and since January Abby has gone to her house each week as well. They get along great and have so much fun together. And aren't they just adorable!
