This year was an Earl Family Thanksgiving. My youngest sister is living in North Carolina for a few years and was unable to make it to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving, so we decided to go celebrate with them. Ryan and I have only spent a day in the state and Abby had never been there, so, one more state for Abby.
Unfortunately the weather was uncooperative - it was cold and rainy almost every day. This decreased the number of adventures we were able to have. BUT, we still got to spend a week with family, Abby got to play with cousins, we got to celebrate Thanksgiving with them the Earl way (LOTS of appetizers and LOTS of pie - plus LOTS of traditional Thanksgiving dinner.) I enjoyed cooking with Maggi and it was fun to see her host Thanksgiving in her home. Plus, she also helped me go clothes shopping - I needed it!
One day when it wasn't raining (but still cold) we went to Duke and walked around the campus.
The kids had lots of fun just playing together at the house
We went to a history museum another day - Abby enjoyed studying the map
On Thanksgiving Abby made a new boyfriend and they cruised around
There is a large pond right by their house so pretty much every day, sometimes twice a day, we'd take their dog and go for a walk. It was nice. We hope to one day live somewhere that we can take pretty walks without having to drive first.
Stairs are always fun
But sometimes you must take a break from all that fun to get the work done
Goodbye North Carolina!
