Cutest Cow in the World

Once  eyar Chic-fil-A has cow appreciation day. If you dress up like a cow and go in you get a free meal. Since I am not aabove embarrasing myself to get free Chic-fil-A, we did it.

We have friends that love free food too - or maybe they just like dressing up as cows

4th of July Fun

Abby really liked 4th of July last year - she loves lights so the fireworks were a big hit. We weren't sure if she would have the same reaction to them this year since she's sensitive to loud noises. We need not have worried. We actually went to the fireworks show  on July 3rd. I guess since there are so many cities so close together in the metroplex they try to spread the shows out so they are not all on the same day. This year we went to the one in Joshua which is held at the high school football stadium. On our way there we stopped for dinner, then headed to the stadium. Before the fireworks they had a concert and let people play on the field, so we did. Abby had a ton of fun running all around, dancing, and tackling Ryan. And then as we sat back to watch the fireworks she was captivated.

On 4th fo July we spent the day with Ryan's family in Grapevine. His parents adore Abby and are so excited to have a grandkid. They surprised her with several new toys including a lawn chair just her size, a baby stroller, and a circus tent. We didn't go to any more fireworks shows, but we did spend several hours at the city pool and that was super fun. They have a great kids play area plus 2 large water slides, a rock climbing wall, and lots of things to climb on. One of the best city pools I've ever seen. And it was only $2/person - and Abby was Free! It was a fun day.

Cousin Fun

Ryan hasn't traveled for work for several years and we didn't anticipate him traveling any time soon. Then a few weeks ago he ended up having to go to Wisconsin. It was the first time he traveled for work that I did not go with him. Abby and I were going to go to Louisiana to visit our friends but then storms came through and it wasn't safe to drive so we stayed home. We thought it would be another few years till he traveled again. Then he got a surprise that they wanted him to go to Florida - a super quick trip. He'd fly there after work Monday, meet with the clients Tuesday, then fly back Wednesday morning in time to go to work again. It was such a quick trip it didn't seem worth it for Abby and me to go. But we didn't want to stay home on our own again, so we went to Houston to visit my sister Mindy and her family. It was a good choice. We got to swim a lot, play with cousins, and just have fun. One of the highlights was meeting my niece Michealanne for lunch. She is serving a mini mission in Houston right now but didn't know Abby and I were coming so we got to surprise her. It was fun!

Don't you love that gigantic swim diaper?
